Offshore Construction Support

Offshore Construction Support – From Template to First Production

Subsea template setting, conductor driving, well slot management, and logistics coordination for platform installation and brownfield expansion.

Offshore construction projects live or die on coordination. Delays in the conductor driving push back platform installation. Misaligned templates cause costly rework. Poor logistics planning leaves crews waiting on deck for tools or supplies. Cooper Contractors provides offshore construction support that integrates with your EPIC contractor, installation vessel, and platform operations team, keeping your project on schedule and under budget.

Our construction services begin before the first pile is driven. We assist with subsea template setting and leveling, using ROV or diver guidance to achieve manufacturer tolerances. Once the template is positioned, we drive conductors using pile hammer or drill-drive methods depending on soil conditions and water depth. Our conductor driving crews have achieved average drive times of 6–8 hours per conductor in typical soils, significantly faster than industry averages.

Key Capabilities

We maintain a logistics base in Fourchon, Louisiana, with dedicated personnel for cargo inspection, weight certification, and load-out planning. Our goal is to ensure that when your construction crew arrives on location, the tools, materials, and personnel they need are already there.

For brownfield projects, we manage well slot recovery on existing platforms. This involves cutting and pulling existing conductors, milling casing stubs, and preparing slots for new wells. We also provide well slot management services, tracking slot availability, maintaining conductor integrity records, and coordinating with your drilling team to avoid slot conflicts.

Why Choose Cooper for Offshore Construction:

  • Average conductor drive time: 6–8 hours per conductor
  • Zero lost-time incidents on construction projects
  • Integrated with our drilling teams for seamless handover

Questions? You’re covered

Here are some frequently asked questions.

01. Do you work alongside the platform installation contractor or replace them?

We work alongside your EPIC contractor or installation vessel provider. Cooper Contractors provides specific construction support services, conductor driving, template setting, slot management, but does not serve as the primary platform installation contractor. We integrate into your existing construction management plan.

In typical soils (sands, silts, soft clays), our crews average 6–8 hours per conductor from start to refusal depth. Harder soils or deeper water depths may increase drive time. We provide a site specific drive time estimate based on your soil boring data.

Yes. Cooper Contractors performs brownfield modifications and slot recovery on active platforms with live production. We work within your safety management system, coordinate with platform operators, and schedule high-risk activities during planned production shutdowns where possible.
