Subsea Completion & Intervention

Subsea Completion & Intervention – Deepwater Capability, Riserless Efficiency

Subsea tree installation, RLWI, and ROV-assisted intervention up to 10,000 ft water depth with 97.3% uptime.

Deepwater subsea operations demand specialized equipment, precise engineering, and crews comfortable working 10,000 feet below the surface. Cooper Contractors provides subsea completion and riserless light well intervention (RLWI) services for operators in the Gulf of Mexico and other deepwater basins. Our intervention spreads include monohull vessels with moonpool deployment, 15k psi subsea lubricator systems, ROV intervention skids, and downhole telemetry for real-time data transmission.

Subsea completions begin with tree running and testing. Cooper Contractors installs, tests, and commissions vertical or horizontal subsea trees, including hydraulic flying leads, chemical injection lines, and control system interfaces. Our crews work alongside your subsea construction team to ensure tree orientation, alignment, and connector integrity meet manufacturer specifications.

Key Capabilities

All subsea operations follow NORSOK and IMCA standards, with dual-barrier well control and real-time pressure monitoring. Our subsea uptime across all interventions is 97.3%, and we have never lost a tree or downhole tool during deployment.

For intervention work, we specialize in riserless light well intervention (RLWI) — a method that deploys tools through the subsea tree without a marine riser. RLWI is faster and more cost-effective than riser-based intervention, with mobilization times measured in days instead of weeks. Our RLWI spreads include wireline or coiled tubing deployed through a subsea lubricator, with ROV support for tree access and visual verification.

Why Choose Cooper for Subsea Services:

  • Mobilization to seafloor: under 48 hours
  • Subsea uptime: 97.3% across all interventions
  • NORSOK and IMCA compliant procedures

Questions? You’re covered

Here are some frequently asked questions.

01. What water depths can you support?

Cooper Contractors provides subsea services in water depths up to 10,000 feet. Our RLWI spreads, subsea lubricators, and ROV systems are rated for full ultra-deepwater conditions. Deeper projects are evaluated on a case-by-case basis with potential vessel and equipment upgrades.

Our intervention spreads include work-class ROVs (WROVs) with manipulator arms, high-definition cameras, and tooling skids. We also integrate with client-provided ROVs or third-party ROV services if your project has specific vehicle requirements. One point of contact for the entire subsea intervention.

RLWI mobilization from contract approval to on-location readiness is typically 10–14 days. This includes vessel positioning, subsea lubricator deployment, ROV checkout, and tree interface testing. Emergency RLWI mobilization can be accelerated to 5–7 days for urgent well control or production restoration.
